In this video we show you how to tie our favorite mouse pattern for fly fishing. Tie one up with us and try throwing it the next time you’re out fishing at dusk. You’ll love the predatory top water eats you get from trout both big and small! I have both Tied and Fished a ton of different mouse patterns over the years. Through a lot of trial and error in both the fishing and the tying, I have found this to be my favorite mouse to fish! This pattern was developed with weight, floatability and durability in mind. This past February, we loaded up the ambulance and headed west to Pyramid Lake, NV. Home to the largest cutthroat trout in the world, fly anglers from near and far come to experience the thrill of pursuing these massive fish in this prehistoric lake. We backpacked deep into the backcountry and camped for two nights in search of trophy Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout. We dealt with crazy wind and rain at times, but sometimes you’ve got to walk a while and endure the elements to find big fish.
